BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT (QCF)

In the first year of this course you will develop your Communication & Employability skills to give you a great start to understanding work in the IT sector alongside units such as Computer Systems and Information Systems.  The 2nd year moves on to cover more specialist units such as Networks, Programming and Systems Analysis and Design.  You will also learn to maintain your computer system and take part in design and production of your own website. This is the part that you can really make your own and use to carve out the skills you personally need to go on to the course or the career of your choice.  The whole course is coursework assessed so be prepared to take your work home and spend time on your studies on order to get the best results. 

Course Content

To obtain the BTEC Diploma, students must complete all three mandatory units and nine specialist unit providing a total of 120 credits.
 

HND - HNC - ITCore Units: Mandatory

Entry Requirements

  • 5. 5 GCSE subjects at grade C or above, preferably including maths and English
     
  • 6. BTEC First Diploma with Merit or Distinction. 
     
  • 7. Mature students are invited to apply, regardless of qualifications.
     
  • 8. International students must have IELTS Band 5.5

Courses commence every: September/October, January/February and July
