BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business (Management)( QCF)

The course is assessed 10% through coursework submission.  You will do your course work in a variety of ways including presentations, role plays and time constrained exercises.  The course involves visits and case studies relating to real life businesses.  Previous visits have been to Thorpe Park, London Zoo, Madam Tussauds.  Future trips are planned for other popular venues in London.  Guest speakers are invited to talk to students about marketing, management, accounting and human resources. 


During the course you will develop skills in IT, communication and presentation skills.  You will complete projects investigating many areas of your core units.  By the time you have completed the course you will have sound knowledge of the wide world of business and practical skills that will prepare you for the next stage of study or business career.

Course Content

To obtain the BTEC Diploma, students must complete all four mandatory units and eight specialist units, providing for a total of 120 credits.

  • 20 Managing Physical Resources in Business Environment
  • 36 Starting a Small Business
  • 38 Business & the Economic Environment
  • 40 Computer Applications for Financial Management

Entry Requirements

  • 5 GCSE subjects at grade C or above, preferably including maths and English 
     
  • BTEC First Diploma with Merit or Distinction. 
     
  • Mature students are invited to apply, regardless of qualifications.
     
  • International students must have IELTS Band 5.5 
     

Commencement
Courses commence every: September/October, January/February and July


Duration
The full programme can be completed in 2 years.


Progression
BTEC HNC/HND or Foundation Degree.  The course also prepares you in starting your own business.
