One Year Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Banking and Finance (QCF)
The Level 5 BTEC Professional Diploma in Banking and Finance is designed to provide:
- education and training for those in the banking and finance industry with a responsibility to provide appropriate and professional services
- opportunities for persons working or wishing to have a career in the banking and finance industry to achieve a recognised Level 5 vocationally-specific qualification
- opportunities for full-time or part-time learners to gain a recognised vocationally-specific qualification to enter employment in the field of banking and finance or to progress to a degree programme at a university
- the knowledge, understanding and skills learners need to process for effective employment or career progression
- opportunities for learners to focus on the development of the major skills, such as improving own learning and performance, problem solving and working with others, in a banking and finance context
- opportunities for learners to develop a range of skills and techniques, personal qualities and attitudes essential for successful performance in working life.
To achieve the whole qualification, a learner must successfully complete eight core and eight specialist units.

Assessment
The units are assessed using a variety of methods, including case studies, assignments and work-based assessments, along with projects, performance observation and time-constrained assessments.
Entry Requirements
Students must have:
a) 5 GCSEs, including Maths or an equivalent qualifications b) For speakers of other languages, an IELTS at 5.5 or higher c) Related work experience d) Other related Level 3 and level 4 qualification
More mature learners may present a more varied profile of achievement that is likely to include experience of paid and/or unpaid employment.
